Leyendecker Studies

In no particular order, various Leyendecker studies I painted during off time at work during November. Was just focusing on portraits, and and attempting to get his brush style down. Very hard edge, graphic.

Noses

Was having trouble painting noses, so I painted noses.

Eye Study Aug 19

Just an eye study, just trying out what we learned at school months ago, seeing how I improved. Mainly in colours, no eye dropping anymore :)

Brave Study

picked something a little more simple for this one. Just again quick after work thing. Almost 2 hours.

need o practice clouds. Gonna go outside and try and study sometime this summer, always find pictures are too blown out.

Master Study #1 - Cliffs on Green River - 1 1/2 h

Starting doing master studies to learn more. Bout an hour and a half. Master was Thomas Moran, painting was Cliffs of Green River. 90% of colours not sampled, needed to cheat some time though...

Pitt River - Virtual Plein Air

Oldish painting I had done for the Virtual Plein Air group on FB. Thought it deserved to sit here too. This is Pitt River just outside of the city where I live.

Kettle

This was mainly a lighting exercise, but also presented fun problems to fix with the mesh and making that work. The main body is all seamless mesh, so that was fun!

Drone

 Heres a robot I modelled last month, catching up on old posts. Kind of inspired by the Big Hero 6 that came out recently. Fun to do, still learning.

Globetrotter Suitcase from Skyfall

New 3D sculpt I did based off of the Globetrotter suitcase James Bond used in Skyfall. First attempt doing dramatic lighting, I think it kinda worked out alright, still haven't learnt anything on the matter though. Wish I could've gotten the metal more mirrored though.

Alien Character Design

Alien character design from a story I am working on... "Hair" is loosely based on a secretary bird, and design is taking inspiration from Matt Rhodes, who did lots of the concepts for Bioware. Tried to do more of a 3D rendering for it.
