Life Drawing Log: Week 8/9

Was not my best of weeks for Life drawing this week... I couldn't quite grasp the lesson I think... I don't know...

Always next week.

Animation Assignment #7 - Walk/Run

Continuing on walks, this is Tita from L'Illusioniste (a very amazing french animated film). This particular assignment was focusing on walks and runs, in perspective. And me, being the usual try-hard I am, picked a massively complex and realistic character. Well, this is what I got. Oh well...

Design Assignment #7 - Character Turnaround

This is a simple character I design for class. Had to make something a TV studio could animate. The coloured digital copy was the original concept, while the turn around was classical. The front 3/4 feet are wrong... and the two parts are off model. A good attempt at a stylized character though.

Life Drawing Log: Week 7

I never understood why every life drawing class I've been in spends one day on drawing the blind-contour way... like, I understand that it'd be cool to draw like that. But I have never met anybody who can.

Animation Assignment #6 - Walks

A project focusing on walks. The top video is Doctor Robotnik (my character choice) doing a simple walk style. Happiest with this one so far.

The latter video is me being pressed for time. Finding many difficulties animating in perspective. I guess its a satisfactory first attempt though.

Life Drawing Log: Week 6

Still kinda struggling with the female form... Might have to study some Frazetta....

Animation Assignment #5 - Stitch

A traditional animation assignment focused on Stitch from Lilo and Stitch. Kinda happy with how it turned out. The little surprise at the end is to repay Stitch for being hard to draw.

Looks more like a bunny....

Design Assignment #5 - Maquette

And this is what we had to do with the villain we designed. More happy with this maquette than the design itself actually. It was a nice refreshing, if somewhat frustrating exercise. It is currently sitting atop my desk screaming at all who what by.

[Edit; and as soon as I collected him after being on display, I see that his cape had been ripping off by gravity... well, it was fun while it lasted. Wanted to get some better pictures, but oh well. I'l probably recycle the sculpey into something else.]

Animation Assignment #4 - Golfing, Drinking, and Climbing

This weeks assignment was just some simple character animation. Im satisfied, but I could've spent a little more time refining it and exaggerating it I think...

Life Drawing Log: Week 4

These drawings are still focusing on the negative space from last week, but adding in the gestural stuff.

And no, she didn't actually have a hammer.
